At Helplines Partnership, we recognise the importance of equipping professionals with the right skills to handle helpline calls effectively. The Beginners’ Skills Package is specifically designed to provide a solid foundation for those new to helpline work, or those with some prior helpline experience.

Level 1: Essential Helpline Skills

This course is a practical, skills-based introduction, offering you the essential tools needed to respond confidently to calls. You will learn the core competencies required to provide effective support, including active listening, clear communication, and appropriate response techniques.

Level 2: Developing Helpline Skills

This course focuses on more advanced aspects of helpline work. This stage is crucial for understanding and managing challenging calls. You will develop advanced skills in empathic listening and learn how to engage with callers while maintaining professional boundaries.
