Rape Crisis Scotland - Scottish Women's Rights Centre Legal Helpline

Legal helpline for women experiencing gender based violence

Free, legal helpline for women survivors of gender based violence across Scotland, including sexual crimes, domestic abuse, stalking, HBV, trafficking, FGM and forced marriage. Offers information and advice on protective orders, reporting crimes, rights of victims in the justice process, welfare, child contact and residence (following GBV) and access to Criminal Injuries Compensation. The helpline is also an access point for legal surgeries where case work and representation can be progressed. Further support includes one-to-one appointments with our solicitors through our legal surgeries as well as free legal representation for a limited number of cases. Can also provide an advocacy support service where we can support women by explaining legal processes, engaging with solicitors and support agencies (police, mental health, etc), providing advice on access to other support services, and filing complaints.
