Compassion in Dying

We want people to be in control of their end-of-life decisions because there is no-one better to make them.

Our nurse led helpline supports people to understand the different ways they can document their wishes regarding their end-of-life treatment and care in case a time comes when they’re so unwell they’re not make or communicate these wishes for themselves.

We also provide free Advance Decision to Refuse Treatment forms (also known as living will forms) by post or email with support and guidance to complete them. For those that prefer to do things online, we also have an online Advance Decision tool people can access via our website.

When relatives or health and welfare attorneys are concerned that someone close to them, who has lost the capacity to make their own decisions, is receiving a treatment they would not want, or their wishes aren’t being followed, we provide support and guidance to help them navigate the process of person-centred best interest decision making.
