The role helplines play in supporting those with mental health issues
The support network in the UK for those suffering with mental health issues such as anxiety is underpinned by helplines, both local and national. Our Operations Director, Gemma Khairi, explains - "Helplines are unique as they provide support at any time of the day and night. They provide the foundations and are an critical safety net to the UK’s mental health support network. Often unnoticed yet vital in sustaining support for those who are most vulnerable."
It is because of this support that Helplines Partnership exists; to support the helplines in turn.
CEO Paula Ojok outlines this need within the helpline sector - "Helplines Partnership supports the mental health charity sector by working in partnership with mental health charities and our member helplines. One of our core aims is the continuation of providing high quality helpline services to those in need of support and their carers. We continue to champion and lead a diverse and inclusive mental health helplines sector through quality enhancements and collaborative partnerships."
At Helplines Partnership, have been committed to supporting organisations that provide non-face-to-face advice, support and information to improve general wellbeing for over 20 years. We champion the interests of our members and help them to build sustainability and deliver the best service they can for their users.
