Helpline for patients, their family members or friends, as well as members of the public. Callers are able to talk to a nurse who has extensive experience in cancer issues. Helpline staff offer support, easily understood information and can signpost individuals to care services in their local area. Further support includes help talking to children about parent's cancer, practical issues such as care and financial concerns, health changes or symptoms, general information about cancer and how to reduce the risks of developing the disease. Can provide guidance to stop smoking. Regional cancer support groups. Has a family support service, art therapy, journaling, driving service (bra fitting), swimwear, headwear), patient advisory group, community and workplace cancer education programmes.
