Chinese Community Wellbeing Society
Support the health and social care needs of Chinese women and their families
The Chinese Lantern Project offers a free telephone helpline service to the Chinese community in the South West region. The aim of this helpline is to identify isolated and hidden members of the community and empower them to better integrate into the wider society and to offer support and referrals through listening attentively with understanding and empathy. Through the telephone helpline callers can seek assistance on a range of issues including benefits, housing, debt, employment, training, social care, family, discrimination as well as immigration. The project also runs a series of face-to-face surgeries and provides signposting to state organisations, local agencies and other voluntary organisations.
