Carers First
Support for carers who look after a relative or friend who due to ill health, physical or mental illness, disability, frailty, or addiction cannot manage without their support
Carers First provide information, advice, guidance, emotional support, training and activities to carers. The helpline provides an opportunity for carers to talk about their caring role and help them get the support they need. The Team can also support conversations with people and services such as GPs, social care and hospitals and offer practical training to help in the caring role. Further support includes assistance with information about benefits and financial support, opportunities to access support groups and activities, help to plan for the future and emergencies, getting the right balance in life and support to access a break or help around the home, monthly e-bulletins and "What's-On" guides containing details of groups supported by Carers First.
