Recognising success and diversity in the helpline sector

Nicola James

Filmed at our Annual Conference, Life’s Journey, in 2017 this short video demonstrates the breadth of the helpline sector and the vital role it plays in our society.

On a daily basis, our members are providing support to people on subjects as diverse as debt, bereavement, education, legal rights and parenting.

Despite the different areas they work in they all have one thing in common they provide support, someone to talk to, for people struggling with issues in their life.

Our Annual Conference provides an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the work of this diverse sector from helplines working to empower and support women in Afghanistan to people facing stigma because of a criminal conviction.

Filmed, by The Chrissy B Show, the video features interviews with ACDEO’s Wida Yalaqi, DrugFAM’s Elizabeth Burton-Philips MBE, Unlock’s Debbie Sadler and Claire Lomas MBE.
