Big changes to telephone charging took effect from 1 July 2015
Significant changes to telephone charging came into effect on 1st July, under the banner of UK Calling.
The cost of calling ‘service numbers’ beginning 084, 087, 09 and 118 will now be made up of two parts, so that callers can see how much they are paying and where their money is going. These changes are also known as non - geographic numbering changes.
Freephone numbers beginning 0800 and 0808 are also now free to call from all consumer mobile phones.
Visit ukcalling.info for detailed information about the changes.
If you have any questions on how this may impact your helpline please contact Sonia Howe, Head of Policy and External Affairs.
