The Prison Advice and Care Trust (Pact) - Prisoners' Families Helpline

Description of service

The National Prisoners’ Families Helpline can support you if a family member is in contact with the criminal justice system. The Team can provide support and information on all aspects from what happens on arrest, visiting a prison to preparing for release. The website has information about what to expect if a member of your family is arrested and what it means if they are charged, how bail works and their rights in custody. You can also find support on what to expect if your family member has to go to Court, including how to find out which court they will go to, what to expect at court as well as what happens when someone is remanded in custody. Calls to 0808 80 numbers are free from all mobiles and landlines in the UK and do not appear on itemised bills.
