Description of service

Helpline providing advice and signposting for first and second generation Scots facing hardship or isolation in London (within a 35 mile radius of Charing Cross). The Team can help with a variety of issues including advocacy, employment and training, grants, health, housing, managing money, families and socialising. Support services include financial assistance for those on a low income to help with essential household items, respite breaks and funeral costs, support for families on a low income through financial assistance to help with children’s clothing, out of school activities, family outings and an annual Summer break for 9-12 year olds. ScotsCare can also assist with grants for education and training, sheltered housing for the over 55s (over 50 with severe disability), independent advocacy and social events and outings for over 50s. Telephone and home visiting befriending service for anyone feeling isolated.
