Description of service
Confidential helpline providing information on learning disability and its impact on family carers. Can help with issues including health care, social care, education and housing provision. The Team can provide information on legislation relating to learning disability e.g. the Mental Capacity Act, the role of the Court of Protection, the Children and Families Act, the Care Act 2014, but cannot give specific legal advice. Further support includes small local support groups and newsletter.
