Penny Appeal – MY Youth Helpline

Description of service

MY Helpline offers an active listening support service that is free, confidential and non-judgemental to young people aged 11- 24 who are experiencing any sort of worries or concerns. The Helpline Team can assist with a number of issues affecting young people including cyberbullying and online abuse, substance abuse (alcohol and drugs), child grooming and sexual exploitation, child refugees and asylum seekers, body image, domestic abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, gangs and criminal activity, interracial marriage, Islamophobia and racism, jobs and unemployment, living with a disability, mental health, parental pressure, porn addiction, homelessness, puberty, bullying, teenage pregnancies and sexual activity. Can also signpost callers to specialist organisations that can assist with any issues. Further support includes access to counsellors with Islamic knowledge via email or contact with a counsellor within 48 hours if required.
