Parent Support Link
Description of service
Supports and informs the family and friends of people who use drugs or alcohol. Provide a telephone contact line with a trained person. The main aim of the telephone contact line is to listen and discuss ways forward. Arrangements can be made for callbacks. Callers are provided with the name of a link person at Parent Support Link but are welcome to talk to any of the trained telephone contact line operators. Following on from a telephone call appointments can be made to meet with a trained Family support worker to have a face to face chat, assess needs and if appropriate start planning the way forward. PSL facilitate regular support groups providing the opportunity to meet with others in a similar situation. Can also provide respite and complimentary health care when appropriate. Signpost to other organisations.
