Helpline and support service providing information on meningitis and septicaemia to members of the public and health professionals. Can also provide information on the symptoms of meningitis and meningitis vaccines. Further support includes befriending, help for anyone in a crisis, help with a family member critically ill in hospital, looking after a child recently discharged after their illness, struggling with the after effects or coping with bereavement. Works with Health Protection Teams and other health professionals, schools and employers to ensure that people get the information they need when cases occur. Home visits can be arranged tailored to individual needs for people and families affected.
