Helpline: 0808 2020 144 Hidden Wounds / Welfare 01980 844280

Description of service

Help for Heroes work closely with the Armed Forces, other Service Charities and organisations to provide direct, practical support for wounded, injured and sick Service Personnel. The Hidden Wounds service provides free and confidential support to Ex-Service Personnel, their families and the families of those still serving, who are living with anxiety, depression, stress, anger or who wish to change their drinking habits. Support is available face to face or by telephone. Current Service Personnel in need of psychological support should contact their Medical Officer or Unit Welfare Officer. The Team encourages those in need of support for children under 18 or for complex issues, such as PTSD symptoms, to also get in touch as we may be able to assist in linking to the right care provider. The Hidden Wounds team can be contacted weekdays. For out of hours support please call the Combat Stress helpline on 0800 1381619 (24 hour).
