Guideposts Trust

Description of service

The Guideposts Information Service provides support, information and a listening ear to people who are struggling with a range of unhelpful feelings and problems to navigate their options, connect with others, and overcome feelings of stress and anxiety. The service also supports people experiencing anxiety and distress resulting from a crisis event such as the current pandemic. The aim of the service is to help people feel more supported, less isolated, and in better control of their own health and wellbeing. Further support includes signposting to sources of social and emotional support, help to navigate support options including financial support, help connecting people to social opportunities and peer support either online or in the local area; support for to six sessions to help problem-solve challenges and meet goals. This service is available to people who do not have English as their main language. Calls to 0800 number are free.

Information, advice and support for people living with long-term health conditions, carers, and those who are socially isolated or have complex social and economic needs affecting their wellbeing; also, Psychological First Aid in response to Covid-19
