CIS'ters: Surviving Rape and Sexual Abuse
Description of service
Confidential service providing emotional support for females who were raped and/or sexually abused/exploited as female children/teens by a member of their immediate or extended family. The helpline is currently a 24 hour answerphone. Callers can leave a message and call backs are usually within 24 hours. Care taken when returning call. Support can also provided via email. Male survivors may ring the helpline and will be signposted to other services as appropriate. For female intrafamilial survivors, CIS'ters offers a quarterly newsletter, monthly drop-in and group meeting twice a month. Also host topic based workshops for survivors and an annual healing weekend. A subsidised fee is charged for workshops. All meetings are held in Hampshire.
