Description of service
The confidential helpline is often the first point of contact for adults concerned about a child or young person who may have been sexually abused. The Team provides support, advice and most importantly, a listening service to all callers. The helpline supports: Parents and carers concerned about a child or young person with worrying sexual behaviour Professionals calling for case advice (e.g. Social Workers, Gardaí, School Guidance Counsellors etc.) Adult survivors of child sexual abuse Families and professionals seeking advice in the prevention of child sexual abuse All helpline advisors are professionally trained to deal with the silence and intense trauma that is often evident on calls. Where necessary the advisors can organise face to face appointments for parents, carers and professionals who are seeking advice and support with CARI therapists.
